Town posts surplus for 2011

The town of Notre Dame de l’Île Perrot will post a surplus for the fourth consecutive year in 2012, the town’s mayor predicted.

Marie-Claude Nichols submitted the town’s financial report for the year 2011 on Tuesday night, which showed a surplus of $430,316. Nichols said it looks like the town will post a similar surplus for 2012.

The town is in the process of preparing its budget for next year, set to be passed on Dec. 18. Some projects set to be completed next year are the extension of Forest St. and Virginie Roy St., and the completion of a multi-functional bike path on St-Joseph Blvd. South.
