Vaudreuil-Dorion has placed severe restrictions on all new wood stoves built in homes in the city.
A motion adopted by council last month council stated that all new homes that have wood-burning stoves must have ones that are approved by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency or by the Canadian Standards Association. The same rule applies for homeowners who are changing or replacing existing wood stoves. The bylaw also bans wood-burning stoves for any multi-family dwellings.
