Brandishing a sharp object, a man held up a convenience store on St. Charles Ave. in Vaudreuil-Dorion just before 6 a.m. last Sunday.
After making out with a sum of money from the store’s cash register, the man fled the scene by taxi. The taxi driver was apparently unaware that his customer had just robbed a store.
Police were able to determine the identity of the suspect and monitored his home on Briand St. in Vaudreuil-Dorion. When the suspect left his home about 6 p.m., a tactical squad apprehended him and arrested him.
The 42-year-old man was charged with armed robbery, making death threats, possession of a dangerous weapon, and resisting arrest. He will remain in custody until his next court appearance.
