A Sûreté du Québec officer got more than he bargained for when he stopped a car last Wednesday for contravening the Highway Safety Code.
After he pulled the car over, the officer received a report that a car had left from a gas station on St-Charles Ave. in Vaudreuil-Dorion without paying for the fill up.
The description of the car matched, so police arrested the driver, a 20-year-old man, and his 19-year-old male passenger. The driver was also suspected to have stolen gas from a service station in St-Zotique last month.
The driver was charged with stealing gas, stealing a licence plate, and violating conditions of probation. The passenger was released.
