It wasn’t exactly the best weather to be playing hockey outdoors.
But Hudson resident Matthias Thijs spent most of the day last Sunday playing shinny with anyone who was brave enough to show up at the rink he cleared off on the Lake of Two Mountains.
While the goal was to have a game between Hudsonites and residents of Oka, only a handful of Hudson residents came to play Sunday.
It must have had something to do with the -25 degree weather, with the wind factored in, said Thijs’s mother Julia Schroeder.
And it was windy on the lake, but that didn’t seem to bother Thijs.
He plans to be back this Sunday, and hopes it will be a bit warmer.
So far, the temperature is forecast to reach a high of 1 degree on Sunday.
